Pedal for a Purpose- May 9

Like to spin, cycle and have FUN?  Register a team for the first annual Carlsbad Educational Foundation(CEF) Pedal for a Purpose, a high energy, outdoor stationary bike-a-thon 

being held on the plaza of the Omni La Costa Resort on Saturday, May 9th Help CEF reach their goal of raising $50,000 for the incredible programs the Foundation funds for our schools.   Registration begins at 9 a.m. and the spin-a-thon  will run from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.  Awesome instructors, rockin' music, great vendors, a bike safety rodeo, activities for the kids and lots of FUN!  Everyone is welcome! Students (13 or older) school families, corporate teams … All fitness levels and anyone who wants to join in the fun!  Teams can be comprised of any number of members with up to 5 individuals who ride relay style or as an individual for the entire three (3) hour event.  Start a team … Join a team … Sponsor a team (or ask you company to do so) and if you don’t want to ride.

Parent University

CUSD Parents are invited to attend our next Parent University series: The College Process Starts In Middle School. Middle and high school counselors will cover information on A-G requirements, what colleges look for in applications, balancing academics and extra curricular activities, and more! The same session will be offered at each of the three middle schools on April 15th at AOMS, April 22 at CHMS, and April 29th at VMS from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Please see the flyer for details.

SBAC Testing Schedule Set

Students in grades 3-5 will be assessed this year in the areas of ELA and mathematics during the month of May. SBAC tests will determine student proficiency toward Common Core grade level standards and help to drive instruction in all classrooms. Please mark your calendars to ensure that students arrive on time and ready to test, having had a good night's sleep and a healthy breakfast. Your child's grade level schedule is on our website calendar and in the attached flyer.

Kindergarten Registration Packets Available April 1

Parents of incoming kindergarten students may complete registration packets beginning April 1. Registration packets may be downloaded from the attached link. We ask also that you complete the Kindergarten Questionnaire and Home Language Survey. Packets may be returned to AOE front office. Please return packets no later than June 26 so that we may begin planning for next year.

AOE Campout is Coming!

AOE's third annual Campout is scheduled for April 24 and 25. Tickets are on sale now. The cost per family is $20 and includes a pancake breakfast served by our very own Carlsbad firefighters. Look for the flyer in Eagle Express. Make sure to register by April 3 to guarantee your family a goodie bag.

Celebrate Carlsbad Tickets On Sale Now

Celebrate Carlsbad Day at LEGOLAND® tickets are on sale nowl! These specially priced $25 tickets are for Saturday, April 25th only from 1:00 to 8:00 pm. Join us for school performances from 3:00 – 5:00 at the stage in Miniland, USA. These ticket sales help raise funds for our science programs, earn credit towards LEGOLAND field trips for all 5th graders and a chance to win $500 for our school. Celebrate Carlsbad Day is the Carlsbad Educational Foundation’s our largest fundraiser to help fund science initiatives district-wide. We hope you will join us for a fun day at LEGOLAND California to celebrate with one giant pep rally for education!  Online tickets are also available at www.CarlsbadEd.org and the tickets will be mailed to the purchaser.  Please make sure to select our school and share this opportunity with everyone you know to help us achieve our ticket sales goals!
